About Marcia

Trying to make the world a better place and having fun while you do it is Marcia’s goal in life.  She tries to connect people to other people and ideas through her books.  It’s not enough just to tell a good story, Marcia wants to make you laugh while you think.  If you go out and do something about a problem, so much the better.

Originally from South Dakota,  she has lived in Denver for most of her life.  Her work with youth has helped raise more than $15,000 for the fight against malaria and she convinced them that being in a bed race would be a great experience.  A percentage of profits from her books go to support causes that she writes about.

She writes for both children and adults, to create a greater sense of empathy in the world. When she’s not writing, you can find Marcia reading, working at church, walking her dog, or grabbing something delicious with friends. Her husband knows she’s the third funniest person in the world, but don’t ask who the other two are.

Marcia serves on the United to Beat Malaria,  Council of Champions, which was the successor of Nothing but Nets where Marcia got started with the fight against malaria.  The champions speak with legislators and schools to advocate for those affected by Malaria. She is available to speak to fans via zoom. Appointments can be made through our contact page.
